Do I always need to manually invite members of my AAD tenant to ADB workspace, if I don't have SCIM integration configured?

EDIT: solved, it works when you go through Azure Portal and get in with "Launch Workspace" button on the ADB resource overview pane.

In https://github.com/Azure/AzureDatabricksBestPractices/blob/master/toc.md I've found (Azure Databricks 101) information that "Any AAD member assigned to the Owner or Contributor role can deploy Databricks and is automatically added to the ADB members list upon first login." . On the other hand, despite having my AAD members with Contributor role on give ADB workspace, the member gets errer when trying to login: "The workspace you are trying to access does not exist in this Azure region, or your account username@domain.com does not belong to any Databricks workspace in the region. Please ask your administrator to add you as a user, or click here to logout of Azure Active Directory and login with a different user."

My first impression was, that in case of having owner/contributor role, you don't need an invite anymore. I couldn't find more information in docs.

Hello @pawelmitrusโ€‹

For users with Owner or Contributor roles, they should click on the "Launch Workspace" button in the Azure portal. For other users they should be explicitly granted access to the workspace to be able to login.
