How to Permanently Disable Serverless Compute in Azure Databricks?

SaeedAsh

Hi,

I was wondering how to completely disable serverless compute in Azure Databricks. I am certain that it was disabled in my workspace before, but now it seems to be constantly available at the notebook level.

Did Databricks release any recent updates that made serverless compute available for all users at the workspace level by default? If so, is there a way to permanently disable it to prevent any usage?

Thanks in advance!

You can disable the serverless compute featuure from your account console :https://docs.databricks.com/aws/en/admin/workspace-settings/serverless#enable-serverless-compute

I have heard that for some ,If this option is not available , it means it is auto enabled in your workspace.
So you should reach out to databricks support team or your account executive to get it back so that you can disable.

Also you can add serverless budget policies and keep is as tight as possible to restrict users.

what if some departments like to use as account console is central/common component. I think it should allow ability to disable at workspace level, could be via account console..

Hey @noorbasha534 , I guess we dont have any feature to enable/disable databricks serverless compute at workspace level. You can confirm this once with your databricks account executive team. They might have a solution for this.
