node_timeline system table is not producing any output in UC.

In system tables node_timeline table is not having any data .

Do we need to enable to any other services for UC

The node_timeline system table in Databricks is designed to provide historical observability across your account. However, if you’re not seeing any data in the node_timeline table, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:

1. Unity Catalog-Enabled Workspace:

   • To enable and access system tables, you need to have at least one Unity Catalog-enabled workspace in your Databricks account.
   • System tables include data from all workspaces in your account but can only be accessed from a Unity...¹.

2. System Table Availability:

   • Currently, Databricks hosts system tables for various purposes, including audit logs, table lineage, billable usage, node types, and more.
   • If you’re specifically interested in the node_timeline table, ensure that it’s available for your ac...¹.

3. Audit Logs and Table Access Control (TAC):

   • The Audit logs system table includes records for all audit events across your Databricks account. You can use it to capture table queries and other relevant information.
   • Additionally, consider using Databricks Table Access Control (TAC) to audit and control access to tables. Once TAC is enabled, you can see table access logs in the DatabricksTableAccessControl log table².

4. Known Issues and Workarounds:

   • Sometimes, querying specific columns or events may not yield results directly. In such cases, consider using related system tables as a workaround.

Hi, your response is not helpful. Explaining the reasons why it's a silly response.

1. Someone can't access system tables without enabled Unity Catalog.
2. node_timeline table is not yet covered in the documentation but it's showing up in the system tables.
3. Without access control, someone wouldn't see the table but the query is about null values (not seeing any data).
4. The columns in node_timeline table are not available in any other system table, and so no workaround is possible.

I have seen many Databricks customers facing this issue. I think, Databricks hasn't filled the system tables data. The query is to get an understanding of timelines by when can we start to see the data in node_timeline table. Also, we are wondering if it is still in private preview.
