I’m a Databricks Academy Labs Subscription customer currently working through the self-paced learning plan “Deploy Workloads with Lakeflow Jobs” in preparation for the Databricks DE Associate certification. However, I have encountered an unexpected technical issue while trying to complete the lab “3 Demo - Automating Workloads with Scheduling and Triggers” under the “Creating and Scheduling Jobs” section of this learning plan.
According to notebook lab Part B, “Explore Your Schema,” there should already be two tables, sales_bronze and orders_bronze, stored in the dbacademy.labuser schema. However, these tables are missing. I can only see the three tables that were created from the previous exercise, “2 Lab - Create Your First Job.”
This missing lab data issue is preventing me from completing this demo and all of the remaining demos that build on “3 Demo - Automating Workloads with Scheduling and Triggers” as well as the previous lab exercise, “2 Lab - Create Your First Job.” After watching the video demo for this lab, it also confirms that both sales_bronze and orders_bronze should be part of the preinstalled lab data in Part B after completing Part A, “Classroom Setup.” Please see the attached screenshots for reference and confirmation.
In addition to this major issue, I have also encountered two other problems:
- For any Vocareum lab notebooks I complete, my work is not saved overnight. If I return later to continue the same lab, or any labs that depend on the results of a previously completed lab, none of my prior work is retained. As a result, I have to redo everything from scratch and rush through the remaining dependent demos and labs in one session before the user computer cluster times out. This has been extremely frustrating.
- I was previously able to download completed lab notebooks from the learning plan “Data Ingestion with Lakeflow Connect” using the Export option under the File tab. However, I am no longer able to download any lab notebooks from the “Deploy Workloads with Lakeflow Jobs” learning plan.
Please advise on how these issues can be resolved and assist with troubleshooting. Thank you.
