We are attempting to create a comprehensive Data Governance solution using Unity Catalog & INFA CDGC tool. The objective is to onboard the business assets on the Informatica DG platform and use the unity catalog to trace technical assets and lineage info since we are using Databricks notebooks & delta tables. We need help in understanding if there's an integration possible between INFA & Unity which will enable use to give a holistic business view to the users without having to login to different tools. If not, is there a workaround and if the combination wouldn't work.

@Tanush Madgavkar AS per GA, we may not directly integrate informatica with Databricks UC, but using lineage rest api you may try. i found one article related to collibra , please check it. also will if any of community members responds

Yes, Informatica now has native integration to Unity Catalog with its cloud data catalogue and governance service. You can scan Unity catalog Metadata and propagate this in CDGC and apply policies, business terms, overlay data quality scores, display lineage and infer linage.

Hi, any leads on how to go about the integration?

Today there’s no native, single-UI integration between Informatica CDGC and Unity Catalog. Most teams use Unity Catalog for technical metadata and lineage on Databricks assets, and INFA CDGC for business glossary and stewardship. Metadata can be synced via scanners/APIs, but users usually still access both tools. Some teams add curated views or links as a workaround, but it’s not fully unified out of the box.

@TanushM -- We are also planning to do the same. However we are struggling with the volume of tables inside some schemas in a catalog. Can you suggest some of the best practices you have come across while integrating Unity catalog to CDGC?
