Databricks Engineer Learning Path

All the courses seem to be disjointed, some show videos, other transitioning to slides, some using notebooks as labs, some the new Vocareum labs?

The role-based learning paths at the landing page at https://customer-academy.databricks.com/ seem to be outdated - at least I cannot find a way to access the labs, despite having a customer subscription.

All in all not a pleasant learning experience, I am afraid. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Please provide some comprehensive guidance for a current, working learning path for Databricks Data Engineering role-based-path. Thanks!

@ptr70

I think you need to understand how many types of AI in the world. And Databricks can handle 4 types in general:

AI is generally classified into four primary categories based on capabilities, though only the first two are scientifically possible and operational today: AI vs. Machine Learning: Understanding the Differences and Real-World Applications | Databricks Blog

After that, you flexible to apply what you can see and understanding. No a fix way to go through. So what is your expectation would be please ask yourself and create an account in Databrick free edition, you could having resource in there.

Hello @ptr70,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Regarding the different course formats, Databricks Academy is currently transitioning from traditional video-based lectures to a more streamlined format that uses PDFs, slides, and notes across self-paced courses. Demo content will still be available in video format.

As for the role-based learning paths, they are designed to guide you through the recommended courses for a particular role. These are free self-paced courses that include demos and learning content, but they do not provide lab access for hands-on practice.

When you mention a customer subscription, do you mean an Academy Labs Subscription? If so, you can access labs for the courses included in the learning path.
To find those courses, go to Catalogs in My Subscription and enroll in the courses from there. You won't see the learning path itself in that section, but you will find the individual courses that make up the learning path.

I hope this helps clear things up. If you're still having trouble accessing a lab or course, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.

Also, feel free to share your feedback through the course survey at the end of the course.
Happy learning!
