Hi Databricks Community,
I have been using Databricks Free Edition for learning and practice, but suddenly it is not working as expected. I am unable to continue my notebooks and practice work.
I wanted to check if anyone else is facing a similar issue with Databricks Free Edition today.
A few things I would like to understand:
Is there any known outage or maintenance for Databricks Free Edition?
Are there any recent changes to login, workspace access, clusters, or notebook execution?
Is there any recommended troubleshooting step before raising a support request?
Databricks Free Edition is very useful for learners, students, and data professionals who want to practice SQL, PySpark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse concepts. So I wanted to check with the community first and understand whether this is a temporary issue or something specific to my workspace.
Hi @Advika Any guidance from the community or Databricks team would be really helpful.
Thanks,
Brahma

Hi @Brahmareddy ,
There's no outage. You can already check the status on following page:
https://status.databricks.com/
I've also checked on my end and everything is working as expected. What issues did you encounter?
If my was helpful, please consider marking it as accepted solution.

Hello @Brahmareddy, I’m also not facing this issue, everything is running as expected on my end as well.
Could you share a bit more details on what exactly you’re seeing? It could be related to hitting your daily quota, where compute resources become temporarily unavailable for the rest of the day, or are you unable to log in to your account?
And are you still facing the issue?

Hi @Advika , thanks for checking in.
I’m unable to log in to my Free Edition account. It is directly taking me to the paid version.
I have been using the same Free Edition account for the last one year, but it suddenly disappeared or stopped showing for me.
When I try to sign up for the Free Edition again using the same email, it says that an account is already associated with this email and asks me to log in.
I also created multiple apps using API calls from this Free Edition account. I’m not sure if that is the reason, but I wanted to mention it for your reference.
Could you please help me access my Free Edition account again?
Regards,
Brahma
