My Favorite Announcements from Today’s Databricks Data+AI Summit 2025 Keynote!

Hi All, How are you doing today?

I have attended Databricks #DataAISummit keynote, and wow — some amazing updates!

Here are my Top 3 announcements that really stood out:

1️⃣ LakeBase – A brand-new, serverless PostgreSQL database that works perfectly with the lakehouse. No need for complicated ETL jobs anymore! Bonus: it also supports database branching. Super helpful! 

2️⃣ AgentBricks (previously called AI Builder) – This helps you build smart AI agents easily. It even creates testing tools and improves the quality for you. Less work, better results! 🤖✨

3️⃣ Databricks Free Edition – Big news! This is way better than the old Community Edition. You get access to many full platform features – perfect for learning, building, and exploring without any cost.

LakeBase – Imagine storing your regular database tables (like customer info, product data) directly in your lakehouse — without extra ETL jobs. No more copying data back and forth! Need to test a change? Just create a branch of your database like we do in Git. Super handy for dev and testing.

AgentBricks – Want to build an AI bot that helps with customer support or summarizes long reports? This tool helps you build such smart agents faster by auto-testing and improving them — like having a mini QA and optimization assistant built-in!

Databricks Free Edition – Now anyone can try Databricks with many full features — not just basic ones like in the old Community Edition. Perfect for learners, tinkerers, or side projects without spending a dime.
