Unable to connect to Cluster or SQL endpoint from mac using Simba ODBC connector

DSN configurationError messageHi,

I've been trying to connect to Databricks (cluster or endpoint) from Mac m1 using the simba odbc connector. I followed the instructions in:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/scenarios/connect-databricks-excel-python-r

https://docs.databricks.com/integrations/bi/jdbc-odbc-bi.html

https://docs.databricks.com/integrations/bi/jdbc-odbc-bi.html#install-and-configure-the-odbc-driver-...

I cannot connect. Attached are the configuration and error message I'm getting. A colleague tried the same instructions on a Windows computer and had no problems.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

2 things come to mind:

  • either the driver is not yet available for ARM (M1 cpu of your mac)
  • you have a firewall running on your mac

are you using latest connector? also, check your firewall setup for the same.
