I was looking at the system catalog and realized that there is an empty table called cloud_infra_costs. Could you tell me what is this for and why it is empty?

This looks to be a "Private Preview" feature (not GA'd yet) and I am guessing that someone at your org opted into.

The cloud infra cost system table helps you see all your data workload costs in one place using Databricks. This includes two main types of costs:

  1. DBU costs from Databricks
  2. Compute costs from your cloud provider (right now, only AWS)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying. This makes sense. Any idea why it is empty and what to do to populate this?

It is possible that the feature is not enabled so there is no data collection,
