Unable to see Manage Account option in the Databricks Workspace

Hi, I have an organizational account who is the owner of the databricks workspace (premium) and also the global administrator. Still, I don't see "Account Console" option in the databricks after clicking the "manage account" option.

I have tried to clear browsing data, tried switching to the other browser (from Chrome to Edge) without luck.

Any clues please?

Ok so if they go directly to the link of the account console are the able to see the options there or does it just list the workspaces they have access to?

Thanks for your prompt response.

After hitting here and there for about an hour and a half, I was finally able to see the "Manage Account" option. Initially it wasn't loading the page for me but after I logged out and cleared the browser cache, now I can see the Account Console.

I have another quick question though. I can see the meta store in the catalog page, so do I still need to configure Unity Catalog with Azure? or is it pre-configured?

Appreciate your help!

@faisal_da You need to configure the metastore in the accounts portal. There are a list of activities that needs to be done and remember only one metastore can configured in one azure region.

To configure a Unity Catalog metastore in Azure, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Storage Account and Container:

    • Create a storage account for Azure Data Lake Storage in the same region as your Azure Databricks workspaces.
    • Create a storage container within this storage account to hold managed tables and volume data at the metastore level.
  2. Create a Managed Identity:

    • Create an Azure Databricks access connector that holds a managed identity and give it access to the storage container.
    • Follow the instructions in "Use Azure managed identities in Unity Catalog to access storage".
  3. Add the Storage Location to the Metastore:

    • Log in to the Azure Databricks account console as an account admin.
    • Navigate to the Catalog and select the metastore name.
    • Confirm that you are the Metastore Admin. If not, assign yourself as the Metastore Admin.
    • On the Configuration tab, set the ADLS Gen 2 path to the storage container created in step 1.
  4. Attach Workspaces to the Metastore:

    • Ensure that the workspaces you attach to the metastore are on the Azure Databricks Premium plan.
    • Attach the workspaces to the metastore through the account console.

Hi @naikashok ,

Do you have databricks premium tier? And are you account admin? Because only account admins will see that option in workspace UI
