Introductions! Feel free to introduce yourself when you join this group. I'll start, I'm Nick, I've been working at Databricks for a little over 2.5 years. I'm based out of Calgary and was originally born in Edmonton. I joined Databricks because I was really excited about the technology they've developed, the potential impact it could have in the future, and the team was some of the best and brightest folks I've ever met. Great to virtual meet all of you, and hopefully we can connect up at the next in person Databricks User Group!

My name is Chris, I have been with Databricks for 8 months as a Solutions Architect helping Customers in the Calgary area. I have a deep background in the Energy industry, and a focus on Machine Learning and Data Science. I look forward to connecting with the community!

I am Liliana, a Solutions Architect based in Edmonton (so if you have data friends and family living in Edmonton, please encourage them to join the Edmonton User Group here). I am supporting customers across Western Canada! I was born in Vietnam, but fell in love with the cold in Edmonton so I decided to stay here ever since 2014. Prior to Databricks, I worked for a construction company where I gained some cool exposure to building high ROI data products through machine learning and descriptive analytics specifically to the construction industry (e.g. geospatial data, HSE data) and different areas of a business (e.g finance, demand forecasting, supply chain optimization, human resources - employee retention data-driven strategy etc). I also was an independent consultant helping businesses build data-intensive web and mobile applications. I joined Databricks because I really believe in how the lakehouse will disrupt many more innovations in data & AI (fun fact: Databricks invented the lakehouse architecture)! Nice to e-meet y'all!
