I'm currently preparing for **Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification** and
have been reviewing the available courses on the Databricks Academy platform. However, I'm a bit unsure about the course mapping.
The certification outline lists the following topics:
* Data Ingestion with Delta Lake
* Deploy Workloads with Databricks Workflows
* Build Data Pipelines with Delta Live Tables
* Data Management and Governance with Unity Catalog
I wasn’t able to find courses that directly match these topics. Instead, I see the following courses under **Data Engineering Plan**:
* Data Ingestion with LakeFlow Connect
* Deploy Workloads with LakeFlow Jobs
* Build Data Pipelines with LakeFlow Declarative Pipelines
* Data Management and Governance with Unity Catalog
Could you please confirm if these courses align with the updated certification requirements? I’d like to be sure before starting my preparation.
Appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

Hello,
The terminology has gone through a name change,
Same courses with a new terminology. The courses are ones recommended to be better prepared for the certification requirements, however always review the and prepare as per the objectives listed in the outline of the exam guide for good results.

Krishna

I also noticed that. I read on a forum that the exam will be refreshed on July 25. Can you please provide guidance for those those already in the prep journey? What exactly does the change entail? What is added and dropped? Thank you.

The supporting courses are recommended, however always exam preparation has to be based on the exam outline that can be found in the exam guide.
The exam guide lists the sections and the objectives which are covered in the exam, a detailed preparation as per the sections and objectives puts a learner in a good position to pass the exam.

Yes, the course names have changed, but they still match the certification topics. "LakeFlow" is just the new branding for those features. You’re on the right track with the Data Engineering Plan on Databricks Academy. Good luck with your prep!
