I had a question regarding the payment options and overall cost for Databricks certifications, particularly from an India-based learner perspective.
Is there currently an option to pay the certification fees in INR? If not, I wanted to highlight a practical concern we often face.
When payments are processed only in foreign currency, participants end up incurring multiple additional costs beyond the base certification fee, including:
- Currency conversion charges
- Credit card processing fees
- Additional taxes are applied to international transactions by the Indian government
As a result, the effective amount paid becomes significantly higher than the listed certification cost, which makes the certification less accessible for many learners here.
Additionally, when we compare the overall certification cost with platforms like Microsoft, the Databricks certification pricing feels considerably higher, especially after factoring in conversion charges and taxes. This difference becomes even more noticeable for students and early-career professionals in the community.
If there is any INR-based payment option available today, or planned for the future, it would greatly help in improving accessibility and adoption of Databricks certifications in India.
