Suggestions for recommendations for picking the right certification

Hi Databricks team. I am into the field of data reporting and visualization and I have worked in Databricks using pyspark. I am looking to validate my skills by certifications. Could you please recommend whether the data analyst or data engineer associate or pyspark certification would be more valid .

Kind regards,

MP

Hi @Miriam22,

This will really depend on what skills you are aiming to highlight. If you are learning more on reporting / analyst skills go with; Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate. If you want to show-off more data preparation activities along with Data Engineering skills go with; Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate. One note, the data analyst certification only has the associate level whilst Data Engineer has a professional exam which has a clearer learning path for you to display.

I've achieved the Data Engineer Professional Certification and found the learning paths incredibly helpful for my day-to-day work as a Data Engineer and am currently planning for the Spark Developer exam which feels much more technical than the content covered within the Data Engineer learning streams.

Hi @Marc_Gibson96 thank you for the detailed description. Would the Spark developer be more useful considering I have already use pyspark on my work?
