Notebook Detached java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Connect Timeout

When I attach a notebook to my cluster and run a cell the notebook is detached.

Cell execution states:Waiting for compute to be ready

Then the attached message is shown.

Notebook detached

Exception execution context: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Connect Timeout

Any idea how to solve this?

Hi @Mpos

  • Ensure that your network connection is stable and not experiencing any interruptions.
  • Verify that your cluster and notebook are properly connected to the network.
  • Check if your cluster configuration (such as network settings, security groups, or firewall rules) allows communication between the notebook and the cluster.
  • Verify that the cluster is running and accessible
  • Adjust the timeout settings to allow more time for the connection to be established. You can modify the timeout values in your notebook or cluster configuration.
  • Look for any specific timeout-related parameters in your notebook environment.
  • Sometimes, transient network issues can cause timeouts. Retry executing the cell after a few minutes to see if the issue persists.
  • If the problem occurs consistently, proceed to the next steps.
  • If your cluster is under heavy load, consider increasing its resources (such as memory or CPU) to handle notebook execution more efficiently.
  • Monitor resource utilization to identify any bottlenecks.
