databricks email notification

In databricks, if a job fails, then an email is sent off as notification.

The recipient, receives the email with the link to the databricks workspace.

Question:

How is it possible the email is sent without any link, just the plain text in the email is what I am after to be sent?

thank you

Hi @arkiboys , When configuring notifications for job events in Databricks, you can choose to send plain text email notifications without including any links to the Databricks workspace.

Here’s how you can achieve this:

  1. System Notifications:

    • System notifications allow you to send alerts to various destinations such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, or any webhook-based service.
    • To configure system notifications for a job, follow these steps:
      1. In the Job details panel for your job, click Edit notifications.
      2. Click Add Notification and select a system destination (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) in the Destination field.
      3. Choose the notification types (start, completion, or failure) you want to send to that destination.
      4. You can add multiple system destinations if needed.
      5. Click Confirm to save your settings.
    • Note that system notifications do not include links to the Databricks workspace.
  2. Email Notifications:

    • If you specifically want to send plain text email notifications, follow these steps:
      1. In the Job details panel for your job, click Edit notifications.
      2. Click Add Notification and select Email address in the Destination field.
      3. Enter the recipient’s email address.
      4. Check the checkbox for each notification type (start, completion, or failure) that you want to send to that address.
      5. Click Confirm to save your settings.
    • Email notifications can be customized to contain only plain text without any links to the Databricks workspace.

Remember that notifications set at the job level are not sent when failed tasks are retried. If you want to receive a failure notification after every failed task (including retries), consider ...123.

Hello,

thanks for your message, however I am still not sure where to see the option to send plain text email.

you mentioned:

  • Email notifications can be customized to contain only plain text without any links to the Databricks workspace

but I so not see options for this.
