Databricks personal access tokens are now one of the most well-supported types of credentials for resources and operations at the Databricks workspace level.
To create a personal access token, follow these steps:
- In your Databricks workspace, click your username in the top bar, and then select User Settings from the dropdown.
- Click Developer.
- Next to Access tokens, click Manage.
- Click Generate new token.
- Optionally, enter a comment to help identify this token in the future, and adjust the token’s default lifetime (default is 90 days). You can even create a token with no lifetime by leaving the Lifetime (days) box empty.
- Click Generate.
- Copy the displayed token to a secure location and click Done.
Remember to save the copied token securely and do not share it with others. If you lose the token, you won’t be able to regenerate the exact same one. If you suspect the token has been compromised, promptly delete it by clicking the trash can icon next to the token on the Access tokens page.
If you’re unable to create or use tokens, it might be because your workspace administrator has disabled tokens or hasn’t granted you permission. Check with your administrator or refer to the following resources:
Feel free to give this a try, and let me know if you encounter any issues! 😊
