Cluster terminated. Reason: Npip Tunnel Setup Failure

Yoshe1101

Hi,

I have recently deployed a new Workspace in AWS and getting the following error when trying to start the cluster:

"NPIP tunnel setup failure during launch. Please try again later and contact Databricks if the problem persists.

Instance bootstrap failed command: WaitForNgrokTunnel

Failure message (may be truncated): Timed out waiting for ngrok tunnel to be up

"

The EC2 instances are deployed properly in the AWS account, but it looks like there is a connectivity problem.

Initially, there is connectivity with:

frankfurt.cloud.databricks.com -> 18.159.44.47/32 443

tunnel.eu-central-1.cloud.databricks.com -> 18.159.44.34/32 443

Can someone try to help me solve this issue?

Thank you very much!

Finally, this error was fixed by changing the DHCP configuration of the VPC.

What change did you make to the DHCP settings on the VPC? I am having the same issue in AWS: Error: NPIP tunnel setup failure during launch. Please try again later and contact Databricks if the problem persists. Instance bootstrap failed command: WaitForNgrokTunnel Failure message (may be truncated): Timed out waiting for ngrok tunnel to be up Code: NPIP_TUNNEL_SETUP_FAILURE

Can you write how did you configure the DHCP settings for VPC?
