Data Science & Engineering Dashboard Refresh Issue Using Databricks

Hi everyone,

I create a Data Science & Engineering notebook in databricks to display some visualizations and also set up a schedule for the notebook to run every hour. I can see that the scheduled run is successful every hour, but the dashboard I created does not update/refresh with the new data after the scheduled run.

I can also see the most recent visualizations if I click into the scheduled run, but it is not transferred over to the dashboard I created. How can I update the dashboard after every scheduled run of my notebook?

I saw that the SQL databricks dashboard has some feature to refresh the dashboard after an interval set by the user. It doesn't look like Data Science & Engineering databricks dashboard have the same capabilities.

Is there something I am missing?

Hi @Ryan Z,

Thanks for reaching out to us. As stated in our documentation, Dashboards do not live refresh when you present them from the dashboard view. The only way to see your most recent visualisation would be to click on the Last successful run.

This indeed differs from the SQL Databricks Dashboard which does have a scheduled refresh option for the current view.

To schedule a dashboard to refresh at a specified interval, schedule the notebook that generates the dashboard graphs.
