@William Scarduaโ€‹ :

Integrating a pipeline with Dynatrace in Databricks involves setting up a monitoring agent on your Databricks cluster, configuring the agent to send metrics and traces to Dynatrace, and then configuring Dynatrace to ingest and analyze the data.

Here are the high-level steps involved:

  1. Install and configure the Dynatrace OneAgent on your Databricks cluster.
  2. Configure the OneAgent to send data to Dynatrace. This involves configuring which metrics and traces to send, and setting up any necessary firewall rules to allow communication between the agent and Dynatrace.
  3. Configure Dynatrace to ingest and analyze the data. This involves setting up dashboards and alerts to monitor the performance of your Databricks cluster, as well as configuring any necessary integrations with other systems.

Here are some more detailed steps to help you get started:

  1. Install the Dynatrace OneAgent on your Databricks cluster. You can find detailed installation instructions in the Dynatrace documentation.
  2. Once the OneAgent is installed, you'll need to configure it to send data to Dynatrace. This can be done through the Dynatrace web interface by navigating to Settings > Monitoring > Monitored technologies > Custom devices and clicking "Add custom device". Select "OneAgent" as the device type, and enter the hostname or IP address of your Databricks cluster. You can also specify any metrics and traces you want to capture.
  3. Configure any necessary firewall rules to allow communication between the OneAgent and Dynatrace. You may need to open specific ports or allow traffic from specific IP addresses.
  4. Configure Dynatrace to ingest and analyze the data. This involves setting up dashboards and alerts to monitor the performance of your Databricks cluster, as well as configuring any necessary integrations with other systems. You can find more information on how to do this in the Dynatrace documentation.

Overall, integrating a pipeline with Dynatrace in Databricks can be a complex process, and may require a significant amount of configuration and customization. However, by properly configuring the monitoring agent and setting up effective monitoring and alerting, you can gain valuable insights into the performance and health of your pipeline and quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise.
