Cannot create External Location due to HNS on Azure Datarbricks

I have run into an issue with creating an External Location on an ASLS storage container with the following error  :

"Hierarchical Namespace (HNS) not enabled

Azure storage account does not have hierarchical namespace (HNS) enabled."

The Storage account was ADLS Gen1 when I first saw the account, since then we have upgraded the storage account to ADLS Gen2 and HNS is now enabled. I am still getting the same error "Hierarchical Namespace (HNS) not enabled"

I have tested this on other ADLS Gen2 storage accounts that are brand new and did not run into this issue.

Did anyone run into this issue on Azure.

• Ensure that HNS is indeed enabled on your upgraded ADLS Gen2 storage account. Sometimes, even after upgrading, the setting might not take effect immediately.
• Verify that there are no conflicting configurations or issues specific to your account.
• Consider checking for any known issues related to ADLS Gen2, as there might be specific scenarios wh...².
• If you’re using any third-party tools or gateways (like SFTP Gateway), ensure they are compatible with HNS. Some tools may require updates to work seamlessly with HNS
