Hi Team,

When creating a new cluster in a workspace within a VNET receiving this error:

Failed to add 1 container to the cluster. will attempt retry: false. reason: bootstrap timeout

Cluster terminated. Reason: Bootstrap Timeout

Cheers.

@Gil Gonongโ€‹ :

The error message you are receiving suggests that the creation of the new cluster has failed due to a bootstrap timeout. The bootstrap process is responsible for setting up the initial configuration of the cluster, and if it takes too long, it may cause the cluster creation to fail.

Here are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Check the network connectivity: The bootstrap process requires connectivity to several Azure services, including the container registry and storage account. Check if the VNET is configured correctly, and the required ports are open.
  2. Increase the timeout: The default timeout for the bootstrap process is 20 minutes. If the cluster is taking longer to bootstrap, consider increasing the timeout to allow more time for the process to complete.
  3. Check resource availability: Make sure that there are sufficient resources available in the Azure subscription, including CPU, memory, and storage.
  4. Try creating the cluster again: Sometimes, the cluster creation can fail due to temporary issues. Try creating the cluster again and see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps help, you may need to contact Azure support for further assistance.
