What is the best practice for determining how many workspaces our company needs?  What are the most appropriate boundaries now that we have UC?

@StephanieAlba adding to @Walter_C no of workspaces will depend on design that you are planning

1. you can based on business unit

2. you can just go by Dev/Qa/Tst/Prd for CICD Practices wise

3. if you go based on above approach, UC schema/catalog wise we need to be well prepared (eg: dev catalog--> dev_silver, dev_bronze, dev_gold schemas) and segregate permissions in schema level

Hello Stephanie, many thanks for your question.

In the following link you will find some of the best practices to follow when designing your workspace strategy:

https://www.databricks.com/blog/2022/03/10/functional-workspace-organization-on-databricks.html

Remember, these are inferred best practices and not explicit guidelines. The exact number of workspaces your company needs will depend on your specific business requirements and disaster recovery strategy.
