Discrepancies in Data Engineering GitHub Repositories and Errors in Databricks Notebooks

Hi team,

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent Databricks webinar on "Data Intelligence with Databricks". During the session, there was mention of two GitHub repositories associated with the notebooks being used as mentioned below.

While attending the session, in the beginning of the webinar while loading Delta tables I used the main branch, until we executed Delta Lice tables notebook. Immediately after that there was a mention of the second github URL. There I stopped working on other notebooks.  And today, after watching the video when I pulled the wes-test branch repository.

Unfortunately, I have encountered significant discrepancies between the contents of these repositories, which has led to considerable confusion on my end.

Specifically, the notebooks (Data Engineering with Delta) in the two repositories do not align with each other, and when I attempt to run these Databricks notebooks provided, I encounter unresolvable errors. This issue has impeded my ability to fully understand and utilize the content presented in the webinar.

Could you please clarify the following points:

1. **Repository Discrepancies:** Can you confirm which repository should be used for the notebooks discussed in the webinar, and address the discrepancies between the two repositories?

2. **Error Resolution:** Are there any updates or additional resources available that could help resolve the errors encountered when running the notebooks?

Your assistance in resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated. The insights provided in the webinar are invaluable, and I am keen to fully benefit from the material presented.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Best regards,
Meghana Vasavada,

Hi @Meghana_Vasavad could you please file a ticket with Databricks Support
They will help you with this request.

Hi @Sujitha

I'm a MS SQL Database Developer using Databricks for my personal use, as my current organization is not a customer of Databricks ! I've never got an opportunity to work on Azure or Databricks in industry. I want to transition my career as Databricks Data Engineer.

For this purpose I created my Pay-as-you-go Azure Subscription with minimal access to Databricks Administration. I'm unable to perform any labs without a Unity Catalog. I also created a Databricks Community Edition account with a different email (my personal Email). I'm currently pursuing Databricks Courses and I'm unaware whether Community Edition has access to SQL editor, or creating pipelines. I'm submitting multiple requests. However no luck. They don't encourage me as I do not have an organizational account. Also I don't have any administrator to whom I can reach out directly.

Moreover I'm unable to create a Databricks Free account as it navigates to my Azure portal and asks me to sign in with my current Azure account. I'm so confused at this moment as I'm not sure which account to use in order to access Databricks Free Trial.

I appreciate connecting with an expert or a Databricks administrator to help me create an account with all admin rights to complete my training courses I have enrolled into.

Is there a best possible time I can connect with you personally?

I would appreciate your time and guidance in this matter

Thank you

Hi @Sujitha

Thanks for your recommendation !! Could you help me connect with someone from the community who can guide me and provide some information regarding 14 day Free Version with a cloud account? I'm not sure Which administrative services does it provide. I have attempted to post several times in the community discussion forum and only received the response that says I need to connect with my administrator. I have not received any precise solution. I hope you understand my concern to connect with a specialist who can provide concrete information and guidance.

I'm looking forward to connect with a specialist one on one.

Thank you
