Implement Unity to an existing Databricks environment

How can install Unity Catalog on an existing workspace which doesn't have one ?

Hi @ctitti,

Unity Catalog & Workspace are independent components. Do as follow:

• Deploy Unity Catalog (choose the same region as your workspace) - (AWS: https://docs.databricks.com/en/data-governance/unity-catalog/enable-workspaces.html or Azure: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/data-governance/unity-catalog/get-started)
  • Even better do it with Terraform (https://registry.terraform.io/providers/databricks/databricks/latest/docs)
• Attached your workspace from Unity Catalog
• You can use Unity Catalog from your Workspace
