Dear Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I recently attempted the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam on 30th November 2024, but unfortunately, the exam was suspended. I would like to explain the challenges I faced and kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter.
Initially, my exam had to be rescheduled three times due to issues with my in-built microphone, which produced excessive static noise. Although this issue was eventually resolved, I faced further difficulties during the exam caused by Cyclone Fengal (as reported here: The Hindu - Cyclone Fengal). The cyclone resulted in frequent internet disruptions and power outages at my location in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Despite these setbacks, I persisted and began answering questions. However, after reaching the 20th question, my exam was suspended again. The proctor requested that I show my room, which is small but was thoroughly cleaned prior to the exam. On my desk were only my government-issued ID and my office laptop (which I was not using). As per the exam preparation guidelines (Kryterion Pre-Check), I kept the laptop on the desk in case it was needed for ID verification.
At no point during the exam did I engage in any activity that could be considered suspicious. I maintained focus on the screen throughout, as can be verified via the video recording. However, I was not informed of which specific exam requirement I had allegedly violated.
This certification is extremely important for my career, and I have invested significant time, effort, and money in preparing for this exam. Unfortunately, these unforeseen technical and environmental challenges caused immense stress and affected my performance.
I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue. If possible, I would like my answers to be reviewed and considered, or I would deeply appreciate the opportunity to retake the exam at the earliest convenience. I am also open to taking the exam at a test center to avoid further technical disruptions.
I sincerely apologize if I inadvertently violated any exam rules. This situation has placed me under considerable professional pressure, as my results directly impact my job security. I am committed to adhering to all requirements and completing the exam successfully.
Thank you for your understanding and support. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
M. Sanjeevi
