What is your favorite thing about your current job/role?
- resolving issues and implementing fantastic ideas in my current job gives me great satisfaction and a feeling of contentment
What sort of duties do you have at work?
- coding, implementing new ideas, fixing bugs, cooperating with others departments
Do you have any mentors in your professional life?
- Dany, who was my team leader. I am also inspired by people who are leading Databricks and their visions.
How long have you been using Databricks? And the Databricks Community?
- 2 years
Do you have a favorite Databricks feature? Something that makes your life a lot easier? Or more interesting?
- Databricks is generally about making life easier 🙂
Is there a Databricks feature you want to see in the future?
-Wow, I have a lot of ideas. For example:
- that whole notebook could be registered as UDF (including spark related functions),
- friendly full-screen file browser (for repo, workspaces, and dbfs)
- more external tables data source predefined including SaaS platforms for example CREATE TABLE … USING Salesforce OR USING Zendesk
- Multi tabs when working on notebooks (like in SQL experience)
- SQL in the standard version,
- in-memory dbfs,
- delta live tables from notebook level also,
Tell us about your favorite hobby
- Traveling by trains and walking in the mountains.

- Hubert is a forward-looking Software Engineer with 10+ years of experience. He specializes in Databricks and Azure and greatly contributes to our community. He spends his leisure time gardening, traveling by trains, and building Lego bricks with his daughter.
